Capturing images from Webcam in AIR
I tried out this simple application of capturing images from Webcam. The application starts displaying the video from the default web cam in the VideoDisplay control as soon as the application is launched. User can capture the snapshot and the image is automatically stored on the desktop in PNG format. I have used AS3 core library for PNG Encoder.

Let me know how I can give you the source code...I saw your comment very late...
I have a problem with AIR with webcam.
I use AIR 1.5 and it not show webcam screen (it showed only black rectangle of VideoDisplay object). But if I use Flex in normal browser it work fine (show webcam screen).
*The result is the same thing with your application.* So I think it's not application problem but it's AIR Platform problem.

_dutta2006would u plz tell me how can I pause a web cam vedio streem in flex application. webVedio.pause()--this code is not working. where webVedio is "id" of the vedioDesplay component.

hello, can you please send me your source code? I am currently working on a project that requires capturing images from a webcam. The difference is I am using Flex 3 because it is a web application. please, i did a lot of reading regarding this matter but I still don't get it. please, your help will be highly appreciated. thank you.. hoping for your reply asap.
